My 18th Birthday

7/7/89
Birthday get-together at my house for my 18th birthday. Got "Notre Dame de Paris" from Natasha!!! ONE OF THE BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENTS I'VE EVER RECEIVED!!! We watched it until she had to go home at 11. Before that we swam. That wet seat next to Leah was where Yin was. And the end is where we all pretended we were on Space Mountain and we got a souvenir picture at the end. Everyone had a good time playing Guitar Hero and Karaoke Revolution.

Movies and "Camping"

6/28/07, 6/30/07
I went to watch Ratatouille with Natasha for her birthday and then with Mandeep because she was leaving the US for India. Then we went to Natasha's house where me, Natasha, Jennifer, and Julia camped out in Natasha's backyard after watching "Phantom of the Opera" and doing each other's hair and nails. Nina, Yin, Tiffany, and Leah also attended.I had half my hair curled and Leah looks like she is in an Asian beauty parlor ha ha ha.

Disneyland Christmas w/ Leah and Natasha

12/17/07
Christmas (kind of) at Disneyland with Leah and Natasha. It's Leah's last time on her first annual pass.

We got there pretty early and instead of the parade music, Christmas music welcomed us into the park. It was slightly drizzling when we got there but it was surprisingly busy! It was a nice and easy day and lots of lines were empty so I was able to get pictures of Leah and Natasha in an empty queue which is not something you can do every day.

In case we got "bored" (you can't and shouldn't get bored at Disneyland, but you can get somewhat fatigued), I brought the MouseAdventure packet from the Fall 2007 MouseAdventure so Leah could pretend to do it with us. We completed (not really, since we forgot to answer the final answer) the Tomorrowland quiz we did not even attempt and so that was nice and fulfilling (except when I asked the guy at Nemo where we could find it and he's like, "Apollo 11 was a rocket ship" and I'm like I knowwwww but I'm pretty sure the Voyager was a sub. Oh well, I felt stupid anyway.)

Innoventions also received a visit, because one of the clues were in there. I hadn't been to Innoventions in a while. It was fun seeing what we would look like in 50 years. Apparently, if you're Asian, in 50 years you will look Native American, ha ha ha. There were nice CMs working there that interacted with us, especially reveling in the sadness I felt upon seeing what I looked like. One of them said, "Don't be sad. You could look worse." And then he pressed "more unfit," "more sun exposure," and "smoking" so I looked even WORSE. Oh well. Then afterwards they asked me if I was feeling any better :)

After that, we went on Storybookland which was Natasha's first time. The CM we had seemed to be a newbie (we wanted the other CM and almost got him, but then it was his break! NOOOO!) A boat with CMs floated by which caused him to break character and call out to them saying that he will catch them later because he wants to ride with them. Then he repeated the same line twice. And he kept pronouncing Ariel's name like Sebastian without the accent: ah-ree-EL! Oh well.

Then we ate at Cafe Orleans for the first time because I wanted to try the pommes frites that Audrey and Claudia had recommended. The first batch was cold so we sent it back and they replaced it with a fresh one (that's sort of bad show you know? How could you give us cold fries?) The fries themselves were okay. Nothing that special, but not a total disappointment. The waiter we had was from Punjab but I couldn't remember how to say "Thank you" in Punjabi so I was sad. I wanted to do that especially because we were kind of tough customers because he came by three times to take our order because we couldn't make up our minds and he also waited thirty minutes or so for us to finish paying the bill ha ha ha. I also had my first piece of Monte Cristo sandwich and it was different from what I expected and it was also pretty good! It stinks how they premake them though! That's not as quality as I expected from Cafe Orleans.

After that, we watched Billy Hill and the Hillbillies who had a special Christmas show. I know I watched my first Billy Hill show around this time of the year but this time was PARTICULARLY hilarious! We got there 20 minutes late, but it was still captivating when we got there. A lot of it I've never seen before so that's cool how they update their jokes and stuff. Definitely a must-see for everyone.

Then we went to DCA and went on California Screamin' where we interested ourselves in determining whether one half of a relationship we saw in line was a girl or a boy. It shall remain a mystery (I think it was a girl, Natasha thinks it's a girl, Leah thinks it's a boy).

After we had a nice ride (where I thought they would delete my picture because of my pose hehe) we went to the Snow White exhibit commemorating it's 70th year at the Animation Building. It was a very interesting exhibit, but I think Natasha and Leah were more interested in the little boy with a British accent that was walking around hehe. The Toy Story zoetrope was awesome. We spent a long time taking pictures of each other, and we spent an additional 20 minutes watching a slide show because I wanted a picture of this slide in which I thought Snow White looked particularly pretty and didn't know when I would see it again (sensible, n'est-ce pas?)

When we got out, it was raining really hard and everything became a lot emptier but a lot more beautiful. We went back to Disneyland where the lights on the Christmas decorations were mostly out, but the castle still looked beautiful and so did Main Street. We hopped on a half-full boat on Jungle Cruise and walked straight through Indiana Jones where we met a funny CM who had been in the film room for so long that she was able to recite the whole film by memory. Sort of like how Natasha can sing all the songs in the Disney store because she's heard it so many times.

Before we left we went on Haunted Mansion Holiday where there were girls with annoying flashing necklaces so we stayed as far away from them as possible. Also, when we went past the ride time board, the CM attending asked us if we were planning to go on Space Mountain (because we were looking at the board) because the time had drastically changed. He switched out the 45 min. card for a 15 min. card!

Then we watched the Small World display and went home. Overall, a very excellent day with short lines!

Universal Studios w/ a Bunch of People

8/7/07
Went to Universal Studios Hollywood with Yin, Dora, Natasha, Albert, Leah, Mike, Alvin, Dante aaaand...that's it.

It was Albert and Leah's first time for things. It was Albert's first time on the Metro (though I thought it was his first time at Universal Studios too, that's why I took pictures of him buying his ticket) and Leah's first time at Universal Studios.

There's also pictures of May at work. At the end of the day she let us walk backstage with her! It was neat. Vending machines are cheaper backstage.

A lot of pictures with Leah and Natasha because we split shortly after we got there (by way of Metro!). The Mummy ride was too long and too crowded and me and Natasha did not want to wait and Leah did not know the others very well so while we went and did something else, they rode it themselves. We reconnected at Waterworld.

We also rode Back to the Future for the last time. It was the best ride, because it was a lot harder than usual. I will miss it a lot. That was the first time I went to the downstairs one and noticed the little video cameras that put you on the TV.

Arboretum with Leah

4/3/2006
Leah and me at the Arboretum. Here it was spring and all the flowers were in bloom and all the dead trees were coming back alive. All the squirrels were plump, all the little goslings were born, and the peacocks were getting ready for mating season.

Senior Dive-In

Come out sun? (I like this one the best.)

3/24/07
Senior Dive-In where people went to the school's pool and went "swimming" even though only 4 people--all guys--did. Then we watched "Click" on a projector screen and it was good. Also, me and Leah got there kind of early so we walked around a lot before we got there, and I didn't have my Senior Shirt on but they still let me go through o_O
