A Day at Disneyland

I guess I was inspired by all the Theme Park Review videos and I wanted to make a special video of one of my trips with my friends! So I went on a not-very-crowded day with Annie, Kristen, and Natasha.

This has been my pet project for a long time and I filmed this with this end product in mind. Finally this year I was able to get the footage onto the computer and edit it. I'm really happy with how this turned out. I think it captures the joy of the day. I might have to take another video trip soon!

People in the Sun

My final version (not the experimental one) of the video we made in Studio Arts 81A. I tried to make a cohesive narrative out of nothing, so basically it's about a man who's daydreaming in the sun (or suffering from heatstroke, one or the other).

I'm not sure if the song fits with it (Sonoio's demo of "Silence"), but I was thinking of Sonoio when I was editing it. You could try muting the video if you want, since that's how originally it was supposed to turn out.

Based on Edward Hopper's painting "People in the Sun."

Beall Center's 10th Anniversary

The Beall Center for Art + Technology celebrated their 10th anniversary today with a celebration including a iTouch Drum Circle, a Museum of Obsolete Technology, and Laser Graffiti. This event included a few performances by some a professor and a grad student that utilized technology and performances by an art group (it was strange...10 unrehearsed art pieces each 10 minutes in length including throwing wet towels and doing a live re-enactment from a scene from 2001: A Space Odyssey.)

Prepare for a deluge of blurry pictures! My most successful MA yet! Trivia was actually doable!

Shang's Army (me, Maryann, Stephanie, and May) won second place in new teams with 382 points! AMAZING!!!!!!!!

Then we ate dinner at the French Marketplace and visited ElecTRONica! AND IT WAS AMAZING! AMAZING DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

D23 Scavenger Hunt

Emperor's New Crew made a visit to the D23 Scavenger Hunt and made it onto the list of Top 10 Favorite Team Names! YEAHHHHHHH! With over 100-degree weather, they trekked on solving puzzles and figuring out what color that duck's hat was.

LA County Fair w/ Leah

I went with Leah and her family to the Los Angeles County Fair (her first time and my first in ten years or so) because her mom's square dancing group and a few other groups were performing. Thanks to them for inviting me!

After I got my onion blossom, all the photos afterward were taken with one hand LOL.

The family and I go on vacation to San Francisco and Monterey Bay (the first time in 10 years!) It was nice weather all around and a good time ('cept for a few bumps--literally).

A lot of repeat pictures here because I use Multiply as a storage backup too. Maybe I'll start making 'highlight' albums.

In the morning it was not busy and then it got busy.

I think my lens was messed up. And also, my white balance was off for half the day, d'oh! But I still had a good old time with the succulents.

California Philharmonic at the Arboretum

Me and Michelle come out to the arboretum to watch Maryann perform with the California Philharmonic!!! They did a collection of Wagner, John Williams, and Lord of the Rings. Interesting selection. There was also a "laser show."

Disneyland On My Birthday!

My parents surprised me with a trip to Disneyland on my birthday! We drove to the Grand Californian right after work! The next day, me and my siblings went to Disneyland and California Adventure and had a great time! Thanks to my mom and my dad for this wonderful birthday and to my siblings for making my day as magical as possible.

Anyway, pretty good day! And Natasha finally didn't have a jazz concert on the day of MouseAdventure so we got to hang out the whole day :D

Renaissance Pleasure Faire

Irwindale, CA, Sante Fe Dam - The Renaissance Pleasure Faire this year was great!!! I want to go again! This was not the best photo-taking day for me (ughhh my lens kept locking up) but it was still so fun. And Riva bought tinkly bells that made her jingle wherever we went :D

A lot of show pictures because I was too shy to take pictures of anything else. Next time though. I want to try a shoot for the hip style!

New Reflector!

I try out the new reflector my mom and dad bought me at Rose Hills! IT'S SO COOL!!!

These are taken with my dad's Pentax *ist DSLR I like it a lot. His Tamron lens too. Has a lot of focusing problems though.

Our submission to the 2010 Mad Film Dash. Made in 24 hours with a Nikon D90 B) Shot in and around campus. Eliz made the "Fanny" part of the title credits using Adobe Premiere!!!

The Intervention was the hardest to shoot because people kept going in and out of the nearby bathroom and talking.
